Aunt Cora's Block of the Month Sampler

We are introducing a new sampler from Starwood Pattern Co during our anniversary celebration. This is a scrappy quilt with very traditional blocks. The first block will be available on Memorial Day weekend. This block will also be the block for June. For those that want a jump start, we are offering the "kick off" during the anniversary celebration. If the finishing kit is purchased by June 30, you will receive a 15% discount. This is a saving of $6.00. The regular price for the finishing kit is $39.99. The monthly block cost is $9.99. There is a limited space, so hurry on in and sign up.

Buck-a-Block

Starts October 2, 2008 - Ends September 2009

This years Buck a Block is either a Queen Size or a double size. You can choose the size at any time as it is just using the border fabric for border and binding or for border only. For those who have not done this program before, you purchase one block, the cost is $1.00 – hence Buck A Block. (the first month is $6.00 to cover cost of 1 package of thangles). You do this regularly for 12 months and on the 12th month the finishing kit is ready to be picked up. The finishing kit this year is $94.99.

Total Cost $111.99:

Blocks - $ 12.00
Thangles first monthly only $ 5.00
Finishing Kit: $ 94.99

Before 11/1/08 get the complete program for $99.99. You will still be required to come monthly for your block. You’ll save $12.00

Rules for Buck A Block:

You are entitled to purchase one block kit each month for $1.00 when you visit our store. You are entitled to only one block kit per month at the $1.00 price no matter how often you visit us.
You must visit our store at least once every month and bring in the sewn block from the previous month to be eligible for the $1.00 block kit price. If you can't come in during a particular month(s) you must purchase the block kit for the month you missed for $3.00 to once again be eligible for the $1.00 block kits.

Thangles Fat Quarter Club

Starts October 2, 2008 - Ends May 2009

Bring your completed quilt center to the store By May 22, 2009 you will receive 15% off on batting for this quilt.

Also included is a demo using the thangles on October 2nd at 10:00 AM, or 6:00 PM. The demo will be approximately ½ hour.

Wall Hanging of the Month (WHOM)

In January a new program will begin, the current 12 month program continues thru December. The group meets once a month on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 1:00 to 1:30. The cost is $22.00 per month or $62.50 per quarter.

Meet the Need

With all that is happening in the world these days, we sometimes forget that there are needs so close to home.

A thought has come for us to share those pieces of "stash". We hear so many of you have stacks of stash piled and just don't know how or if it will be used. For those that would like to join in making uniform blocks, assembling and donating to local organizations, such as the local food pantry or a need that comes up through the year, the third Thursday of the month from 9:00 am - 8:00 pm will be dedicated for this. Bring in your fabrics, patterns, ideas and machines so you can stitch to Meet the Need.

It would be helpful to sign up ahead of time, but it isn't necessary. You can come for an hour or all day.

Sew Much More will provide the batting for this cause. Contact us for more information or let us know if you have any ideas to help us get this off the ground.

NOTE: Meet the Need will begin meeting on the 4th Thursday of the month starting on January 24, 2008
